Second hand-guide for Amager
I’ve previously done a second hand guide for stores in Copenhagen, but since I’ve moved to Amagerbro I’ve realized there’s a lot of good second hand here as well.
Amager is the island where Copenhagen Airport is located. I’ve understood that Amager has bad reputation among Copenhagers, however, it’s a beautiful place, feels like a city within the city - and has lots of second hand.
Let me recommend you a few.
2nd by Nutid, Amagerbrogade 9A
This store has a youthful vibe, is well organized and has carefully selected items for men and women as well as some interior pieces. Good prices and one of my favorite stores. Go to their Instagram to check out their opening hours as they may vary.
Across the street you find the cute interior store Alrum with small scale produced pieces, you have a couple of vintage interior stores and a few meters away you’ll also find the coffee shop Alice that always have a cue outside. Known for their good coffee and ice cream.
Frelsens Hær Genbrugsshop, Holmbladsgade 10
If you take a left on Holmbladsgade coming from Amagerbrogade with the city behind you you’ll find Frelsens Hær Genbrugsshop. The store holds clothes for men and women and fun accessories - everything neatly organized by color. A pleasure to look at.
Continue a few blocks and you’ll have a coffeeshop called Vores Kaffebar to your right. A cute little cafe good for working on your laptop or reading.
Tapirus Second hand, Amagerbrogade 48
This is the first second hand store I found on Amager and that also made it to the Copenhagen guide I’ve made previously. It’s a big store, without being overwhelming. On two floors you’ll find sunglasses, accessories, clothes, shoes - both for men and women. A lot of Scandinavian brands mixed with fast fashion pieces from stores like Monki as well as some higher end. Good prices, and a lot of nice pieces to choose from.
KBH Deluxe, Amagerbrogade 57
For those of you that like Scandinavian and high end fashion brands KBH Deluxe is for you. Prices are a bit higher, and the pieces are carefully selected. You’ll find womens clothes and brands such as Ganni as well as Dolce Gabbana.
Røde Kors Megastore Amager, Amagerbrogade 139
Just as the name reveals - a big store run by the Red Cross. I’ve mainly been here to buy photo frames and home decor but they have quite a big section for both men’s and women’s clothing. Very good prices and loads of cute stuff.
Genbyg, Amager Landevej 185
While we’re at it. If you have time and want to find inspiration to your DIY building or decorating project Genbyg is a store selling pre-loved timber, shelves, floor tiles, handles… It’s such a paradise for everyone interested in construction, decorating and repurposing!
