Moving to Copenhagen

We moved to Copenhagen, Denmark from Stockholm, Sweden exactly a week ago. It’s been lovely, intense, fun, nice, tiring and everything in between.

A two day move from Stockholm to Copenhagen

My husband is from the city Jönköping in Småland, and we had one night and a few hours there. We stayed at his moms house, I love that house, and had her amazing mushroom soup in the middle of the night when we arrived. After packing for one week and cleaning for two days I was exhausted. And just the idea of moving country is exhausting. I fell asleep with my clothes and a loud fan on in the room that we always have when we visit her. It’s extremely cozy and I love visiting my mother in law, she’s an amazing woman, and I’ve always felt welcomed in the Ojensa family. Before leaving Love went through a few old boxes of his with things from the past. Most of them were kitchen stuff, but we also found his first walking shoes. Super tiny and blue little leather shoes. My heart melted.

Finally in Copenhagen

After our short stay in Jönköping we continued to Malmö. And from Malmö we took the train over to Denmark. At the train station we had to get off the train to show our ID to the Danish police. Due to Corona the borders to Denmark have closed and no-one can pass without showing identification. My husband went to one booth and I to another, since I thought they only wanted one person at each booth. The police man asked me for ID and something with my address on. I showed him our rental contract, my ID and all the papers I had. He glanced at them without showing any facial expression at all. Not until I pointed at my husband who had already passed and said that’s my husband he let me pass.

The new hangout spot

Ever since we came we’ve just tried to get our place in order. We’ve unpacked and tried to organize and just get settled. We’ve hung out with friends, had amazing food, natural wine and ice-cream. And at the same time I’ve tried to work and keep up with all the normal stuff. I have two super fun ongoing projects with Mad Luck and next week I’ll start a new one that I’ll tell you more about later on. Everything is super nice, we’re having the best of days, but we’re also super exhausted from just trying to make a home basically.

I’m super happy to have found two new favorite hangout spots where we’ve been many times. Arrebo and Heimdalsgade 22. They are both close to our home and are super cute. Arrebo has amazing olives and nice wine, exactly like Tjoget, my favorite bar in Stockholm and Heimdalsgade 22 is more of a cafe where you can sit with your computer and work.
