I’m joining the 10x10 challenge
There are a bunch of challenges online regarding a bunch of different things, but here’s one I think makes change to join in you’re into fashion.
What is the 10x10 challenge?
I love clothes, I love the feeling of wearing something that makes me feel cute or cool, and I love that clothes have that impact. 6 months ago I started making clothes at home from thrifted fabrics, sheets and curtains meaning I now have even more clothes. But unfortunately I don’t wear them all. In fact, we only wear 1/3 of the clothes we have in our wardrobe, which seems pretty unnecessary.
By creating a capsule wardrobe, which the challenge essentially is, you limit the amount of options you have and force yourself to combine items you have in your wardrobe in new ways. So the challenge is that you choose 10 items and only wear those 10 items for ten days.
These are the items I’ve chosen
Tops:
An oversized white shirt from Kings of Indigo, bought at Ecosphere.
A classic white tee with a pocket from Nudie Jeans.
A chunky grey wool sweater I bought at a flea market on the streets of Nørrebro. (Love Copenhagen!)
A thin black wool mock turtleneck from Everlane.
An off white cotton wrap top I’ve made from a curtain (that I’m now forcing myself to finish).
A thin cotton turtleneck from Armedangels.
Bottoms:
A short denim skirt, bought second hand at Myrorna in Gothenburg.
Blue Levi’s 501 that my dad had in his wardrobe, gifted them to my husband and I will now… borrow them.
Dressed up black wool pants, bought second hand at Emmaus in Gothenburg.
Burgundy oversize pants I’ve sewn from thrifted fabric.
What to include in the challenge
I have not included shoes in my challenge, because I couldn’t decide and I feel it depends on the weather. You do however you want. Underwear are not included, and neither are jewelry, accessories etc.
I encourage you to join the challenge! I’m actually super excited! I hope it will give me new ideas on how I can wear my clothes.
